Skar (IDW)

Skar is a Transformer from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Skar was the tactical medic of the Dynobots during their time as soldiers of the Primal Vanguard. Prior to joining up he was known to have researched the dynamic alt-mode adaption theory, a method of adapting a new alternate mode on the spot.

IDW Generation 1 continuity

While on a mission to search for subterranean terrorist bases beneath the Toraxxis Plains, the Dynobots encountered powerful monsters dwelling in the caverns, creatures that almost wiped them out. In a desperate bid to survive, the team used Skar's research to adapt new alt-modes based on the monsters, granting them the strength they needed to escape. Unfortunately, Skar himself was killed during the battle, causing the other Dynobots to be overcome with grief and factoring into their desertion from the Primal Vanguard. Underworld
