Act of Affiliation

A Cybertronian undergoes the Act of Affliation when they their Autobot Code Exam. It consists of them receiving an interim Autobot badge drawn on their person by the highest-ranking Autobot officer.

IDW Generation 1 continuity

Rodimus (then called "Hot Rod") underwent his Act of Affliation ritual years ago, during which Optimus Prime himself drew Hot Rod's interim Autobot symbol on the young 'bot.

Tailgate underwent his Act of Affliation aboard the Lost Light, and invited his friends Skids, nut-job, First Aid, Jackpot, Chromedome, Rewind, Swerve, Cyclonus, and Brainstorm. Ultra Magnus and Drift also attended. Before the ceremony began, Jackpot began taking bets on how long it would take Rodimus to say "'Til all are one" in his speech. Rodimus recounted a story of his own Act of Affliation, before writing the Autobot symbol on Tailgate. Only he didn't write it, and due to a brief possession wrote "Let me out" on Tailgate in old Cybertronian. You, Me, and Other Revelations
