- A 2004 Duel Masters video game credits him as being the "Production Manager" at Dreamwave rather than "Director of Management". His actual work on the game, if any, is presently unclear.
- According to Matt Moylan, both he and Derek (who is once more referred to as "production manager") knew about and were "really upset" over the fact that Pat Lee was credited as doing the infamous Silver Snail variant cover for Generation One (ongoing) issue 1 rather than actual artist Rob Ruffolo.
