The Predacons awaken and begin their search for the Legendiscs. After being attacked by the Predacons, Isami accidentally awakens the Swordbot Samurai Team.
Synopsis
A young boy hikes near a volcano's caldera. He kicks a stone in and is scolded by his father for disturbing the mountain. The two leave, and miss the ensuing rock slide inside the volcano which reveals Predaking. Predaking awakens and sends out a signal causing all the other Predacons to awaken.
In Autobot Base, Optimus Prime sees the red Predacon energy signals but also notices six blue energy signals—three on either side of the Predacon outbreak. He wonders what they could be...
In Tokyo, school lets out and Isami Tatewaki runs home to the kendo dojo his grandfather runs. There, he quickly dispatches a sparring opponent, who praises his skill ("Just what you'd expect from the dojo's heir!"). Isami's grandfather then attacks Isami, telling him not to rest on his laurels—an enemy can attack at any time! Isami's grandfather challenges Isami to a fight, but as they kneel before their dojo's sacred mirror, the Predacons Budora and Gaidora attack!
It turns out that the sacred mirror is actually a Legendisc, and the Predacons want it! Isami's grandfather tells him to protect the disc, and Isami makes a run for it. He soon realizes that, the more he runs, the more of the city the Predacons will destroy and decides to make a stand. The Predacons realize his motives, though, and threaten to kill some kids playing in the park if Isami doesn't hand over the disc.
Their underhanded tactics enrage Isami, and the Legendisc responds to his pleas. At the Kaminarimon, the statues of Fūjin and Raijin pulse with energy, which then zaps into the nearest power lines. The energy courses through Tokyo, blowing out transformers and lights as it goes until engulfs Isami. As if possessed, Isami then looks at a nearby police car, fire truck, and jet fighter, scanning each of them. Three sparks jump off him, materializing three Transformers that take the forms of the vehicles he scanned.
The Transformers transform, introducing themselves as Kenzan, Jinbu, and Ganoh. In very old-fashioned Japanese, they tell Isami that he must not allow the Predacons to get their hands on the Legendisc.
Gaidora is not impressed, and uses his matter alteration abilities to turn some nearby cars into Jaki minions!
The Swordbots announce their fighting styles and areas of expertise while putting the hurt on the minions, causing Gaidora to order the minions to combine. They do, and Isami is scared by their awesome power. Either sweat or tears drips on the Legendisc as he begs for some way to stop the minions, and the disc responds by enabling the Swordbots to combine.
The combine into GoKenzan, and quickly dispatch the minions with a finisher. Gaidora re-materializes the minions, and forces them to combine once more and take to the skies. The Swordbots recombine into GoJinbu, again dispatching the minions with a finisher. Gaidora re-materializes them yet again, and the Swordbots recombine into GoGanoh. Another finisher, and the minions are beaten back. This time, they are not destroyed. The Swordbots recombine into GoKenzan, and use a super finisher to finish off the minions for good. They then attack Budora and Gaidora.
There is a bright flash of light, and the Swordbots and Isami find themselves transported to the Sengoku period, where the Tokugawa army faces off against the Ishida army across a battlefield. Isami and the Swordbots to notice that each army has a Legendisc attached to their standard before they are transported back to the present.
The Swordbots thank Isami for giving them new life, and ask him to fight the Predacons with them. That night, Tobio Fūma calls and tells Isami that he and his Shinobi Team are in the fight too.
