This article is about the Prime Predacon. For the Kre-O Predacon, see Grimwing (Kre-O).
Grimwing is a Predacon from the Aligned continuity family.
And now we want him redecoed in purple.

Grimwing is not like other Predacons. Despite being powerful enough to go toe-to-toe with Predaking, his inherent sense of honor and chivalry separate him from the other vicious, ambitious members of his kind. He finds it disgraceful that his brothers and sisters use their abilities to dominate the weak, and he will go to any length to stop his fellows from conquering the world.

Accompanying him on this quest is Blackbeak, an odd, rageful, and impatient creature who was somehow generated in the same experiment that birthed Grimwing himself. Shockwave knows better than to trust either of them, for if there were any Predacons that might find a more natural home among the Autobots, this powerful pair would be the ones.

...only to be greeted by Ultra Magnus taking the offensive himself, swatting the Predacons out of the sky with the Forge of Solus Prime. The results were, for Magnus, unsatisfactory on many levels, as Grimwing and Blackbeak made short work of the Autobot, decrying all modern Cybertronians as savages and setting out to defeat the remaining Predacons on their own.
