Chip is a drone from the Prime portion of the Aligned continuity family

Chip was built from a part of Laserbeak's wing by Rafael Esquivel to lead the Autobots to the Decepticon warship.

• Chip is possibly a reference to Chip Chase from the original Transformers series, who was a character much like it's creator, Raf.
