The name or term "Scorponok" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Scorponok (disambiguation).
Scorponok is a Terrorcon in the Enegron and Cybertron portions of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

Scorponok's origin differs greatly depending on which dimension of the multiverse you are speaking of. What doesn't change however is the fact that he's a massive and terrifying sight on the battlefield. As his name suggests, he can change into a giant scorpion, but also a big, chunky plane!

Fiction

Dreamwave comics continuity

Energon

Scorponok was a powerful Decepticon warrior who aided Megatron in his war of conquest on Cybertron. Later, after Unicron's arrival and subsequent defeat, he pledged himself to the chaos bringer in exchange for incredible power and became leader of the Terrorcons. When Megatron returned, he decimated the Terrorcon ranks before finally facing Scorponok himself. After a brief but intense battle, Megatron ran Scorponok through the chest with his sword, destroying him.

Animated continuity

Energon

Scorponok was the Terrorcon general, created by Alpha Q to lead in Energon raids. He begrudgingly joined forces with Megatronafter the Decepticon leader's revival.

Scorponok was Alpha Q's guardian on the former Planet Q, before detonating this planet in an attempt to destroy Unicron. When Alpha Q was resurrected in 2020, he brought Scorponok back online using a nameless Decepticon's spark to replace the one destroyed in the planet's explosion. After Megatron's return, he served Alpha Q in secret until an incident where Megatron finally destroyed him, then brought him back online with a Decepticon program protocol. The Autobot Ironhide feuded with this beastly Transformer until one final conflict, which left Scorponok mortally wounded. The fallen Decepticon admitted that he was not Megatron's slave, but that honor demanded loyalty toward he who gave him life, be he Megatron or Alpha Q.

Scorponok, dying, was able to carry Ironhide's damaged body from their battle ground, to Jungle Planet, when Optimus Prime needed to merge with Ironhide's and the other Autobots' sparks to meet the gargantuan Galvatron in battle. Scorponok died shortly afterwards. His final request was that Ironhide save their planets.

Fan Club Cybertron comics

After the opening of the Unicron Singularity, tears in the space-time continuum opened up randomly, dumping an undead Scorponok on Cybertron. His Unicronian frame was imbued with the essence of the dark god and Scorponok mindlessly sought out victims to consume for their Sparks. Dark Scorponok eventually located the travelling Skyfall, and was destroyed by his intense Energon ballistics shield.

(Note: The Key code info for Dark Scorponok says that at some point, he located the Jungle Planet and served Scourge as a bodyguard.)
