The name or term "Slingshot" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Slingshot (disambiguation).

Odd as it might seem among the vast collection of hi-tech weaponry Transformers possess, slingshots are an acceptable pick among both Autobots and Decepticons. Moreso, a slingshot is Wheelie's signature weapon, which he uses to hurl fire stones at his opponents. Those hurt, man!

Fiction

Generation 1

Generation 1 cartoon continuity

The Transformers cartoon

Starscream's arsenal included a slingshot. During the battle at Sherman Dam, he had some sort of explosive crystal which he claimed he had been saving for the Autobots, and used his slingshot to fire it at... something. If he had been aiming for any of the Autobots, he missed. Megatron responded by calling him a fool. More than Meets the Eye, Part 2

By hitting Grimlock in the nose with a fire stone from his trusty slingshot, Wheelie got the Dinobots' attention. After explaining the Dinobots that their comrades had been captured by the Quintessons, he led them to their location and proved the might of a good slingshot again against the Sharkticons. The Headmasters cartoon

Wheelie protected himself and Daniel against Ratbat with his slingshot. He referred to the attack as "Wheelie Pachinko". Terror! The Six Shadows

IDW Generation 1 continuity

Wheelie fashioned himself a slingshot to survive while stranded on LV-117. He used it to scare away an arachnosaur and free Varta. Spotlight: Wheelie He continued wielding the weapon even after moving on to LV-118, where he shot a Chaosteros in the eye in order to chase it away from Rodimus. Space Opera Part 1: The Stars My Destination Ironhide wasn't impressed with the slingshot, though he wasn't around to see Wheelie use it to shoot a Sweep out of the sky. Using his trusty slingshot, Wheelie blew off many a Nightbird's face, until he ran out of ammo. Departure In an alternative timeline, Trailbreaker ordered a number of Minibots to subdue Sunstreaker and Sideswipe. Wheelie shot Sunstreaker in the chest with his slingshot. Escape
