Continuity Transformers: Prime

The divided Dinobots continue their struggle to make it to safety in the wake of Cybertron's rejuvenation.

Synopsis

As he and several others look over the devastated Last Spark, Snarl ponders over the recent turn of events. Perplexed by the fact no one was attacking Last Spark, he deduces that since there's no clear line or pattern to the destruction, the quake that destroyed the city must have been on a planet-wide scale. On the other hand, he goes over the fact that any Cybertronian not hurt by event itself has not only been recharged, but repaired. He then concludes that whatever they're dealing with isn't a quake at all.

Meanwhile, Slug is dragging an injured Blackout down a tunnel, the two being at ends about Slug's handling. Sludge appears at the other end of the tunnel, thanking Primus that he found Slug. Slug then asks Sludge to patch up Blackout (whose lost an entire leg below the knee), stating that he doesn't want his "prisoner" to die before his trial. Sludge jokes around when Slug brings up being a "by the book" person, but agrees to repair Blackout.

Back at Last Spark, Swoop and Chromia continue to evacuate residents, with the latter leading them up to a tunnel, with Swoop directing a still-bestial Grimlock behind them. As his boss slowly lumbers behind the convoy, Swoop decides to take the lead and scout ahead. Chromia, though relieved to see her people alive, somberly asks Swoop if Grimlock really had to chase them out of their home. Swoop explains that Last Spark was gone, and Grimlock was just making sure they knew that too.

Continuity notes

  • The Forged soldier who went unnamed last time is indeed identified as Blackout this issue. This Aligned-verse version of the live-action movie character first appeared in the Transformers: Exodus novel.
  • The serpentine creatures that have intermittently appeared in the series up till now being hunted by the Dinobots get named at last as "razor snakes".
