The name or term "Dreadwing" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Dreadwing (disambiguation).
Dreadwing is a Decepticon from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Just rude, really.

Dreadwing is the combined mode of the Decepticon Powermasters Darkwing and Dreadwind.

Fiction

Marvel comics continuity

Goldbug, Slapdash, Joyride, and Getaway travelled to Nebulos to find appropriate facilities to rebuild Optimus Prime. However, Dreadwing had arrived much earlier and was terrorizing the planet with its Powermaster-fueled might. People Power

Later, at the notoriously robophobic Grand Central Space Station, Dreadwing (erroneously called "Darkwind") remains in vehicle mode and doesn't speak, to avoid attracting hostile attention. Dreadwing assists Hi-Test and Throttle in their scheme of capturing robots to deliver to the Mecannibals, including Landmine and Cloudburst. Guess Who the Mecannibals are Having for Dinner?

Later, Dreadwing and the Nebulans attack those selfsame Autobot Pretenders as they travel from Femax back to the Station, but they are surprised and defeated by Sky Lynx. They end up on the run from the Mecannibals when the Autobots spill the beans about Dreadwing being a pair of (presumably tasty) robots. Recipe for Disaster!
