War Within (franchise)

Generation 1 continuity family War Within Toyline Comics

The War Within franchise began with a Dreamwave comic miniseries set in Cybertron's distant past, featuring many popular Generation 1 characters in their pre-Earth forms. Its success spawned one and a half followup miniseries (the last one was cut short when Dreamwave went bankrupt) and a toyline spread between two umbrella franchises.

The War Within franchise comprises the following components:

• A toyline
• A comic book series

The franchise's visual style has been almost entirely determined by artist Don Figueroa, who was the penciler and character designer for the first miniseries and also served on the Titanium Series toy design team, which produced most of the War Within figures.
