Animated continuity

Energon

Inferno is a member of Team Prime, obviously a seasoned veteran (despite only being introduced at the start of Energon).

He's a 'Bot of few words, and he has excellent marksman skills-making him the team's unofficial sniper.

Inferno possesses a Spark of Combination, and is able to combine with other Autobots such as Hot Shot (his traditional partner) or Downshift.

Midway through the series, Inferno was captured by Megatron and brainwashed into helping the Decepticons find energon. He wrestled with this painful internal struggle for some time, finally sacrificing his life to keep from betraying his friends.

Inferno's Spark was recovered and he was reborn in a new, tamper-proof body under the name Roadblock.
