Rescue Bots cartoon

Charlie Burns, his son Cody Burns and their Rescue Bots set out on the annual Burns family fishing trip. They hadn't been out for long when they were attacked by a giant robot shark, which struck the boat, causing Heatwave to fall overboard. After consulting with Doc Greene, Burns took the boat out again with the Rescue Bots, planning to use an electro-magnetic lure to trap the shark in a cove. The shark took the bait and started following the Darby Ava, but veered off to investigate the Griffin Rock ferry. After Burns and Blades went to help the people on the ferry, the other Rescue Bots abandoned ship to attack the shark. Deep Trouble

After Cody and the four Rescue Bots were swept out to sea, the rest of the Burns family pressed the Darby Ava into service as a search-and-rescue vessel, along with many of Griffin Rock's other boats. The Lost Bell

They used the boat to reach Wayward Island after a meteor crashed there. During a second visit to the island to destroy the meteorite, the Darby Ava was swept into rocks, damaging the ending and triggering the countdown on the bomb they'd brought. Graham was able to fix the engine, and the bomb was used to destroy the meteorite. Bumblebee to the Rescue

The ship was taken on the mission to destroy the S.S. Isolde, which contained a dangerous invention. The Darby Ava was damaged by falling ice and began to sink, but was saved when Doctor Morocco lifted it up on his shark submarine and carried it to shore. Tip of the Iceberg

Following an earthquake, Graham, Cody and the Bots used the boat to get to Wayward Island to check out a missing quake sensor. A super-magnet pulled the boat right out of the water and wedged it between two trees, ripping its engine clean out. It was later towed back to Griffin Rock using Doc Greene's floating lab. Notes

  • As the Darby family over in Transformers: Prime are named for Jeff Kline's daughter Darby, presumably that's where this boat's name comes from too.
