Talk:Dinobot (disambiguation)
As to Catilla: Dualor, Rav, and Triceradon are redecos of the Classics Mini-con Dinobots in colours inspired by the G1 Dinobots' character models. While Catilla is part of the same pseudo-subgroup of DOTM-released Mini-Cons with beast altmodes, he is not a dinosaur, he's not particularly prehistoric-looking, and his colours (also, unlike the other three, his name) are an homage to his G1 counterpart, who, admittedly, was a prehistoric beast, but not a Dinobot. - Obsidian (Kre-O Combiner) is a Dinobot, and his components are all Insectoid. And then Magmatron, of course. That he was included as part of a group where everyone else (who has the same color scheme) has color schemes homaging the G1 Dinobots indicates to me that his color scheme is homaging them too.KrytenKoro (talk) 10:48, 14 June 2014 (EDT)
- According to Obsidian's talk page, there is doubt on whether he is a Dinobot, and none of his components are labelled as such. Also, DOTM Catilla is silver and gold, while the other three are dark grey and gold. Plus, again, Dualor, Rav, and Triceradon have the same altmodes as Grimlock, Swoop, and Slag, respectively. Catilla has an altmode based on G1 Catilla's Pretender shell. Pirateblue (talk) 11:44, 14 June 2014 (EDT)
1) None of the Kre-O combiners should be called "Dinobot" on their pages as none of them are ever labeled as such. That was presumption on the part of the person making the pages.
2) Catilla's not-being-a-dinosaur is irrelevant, since pterosaurs are not dinosaurs either. (Neither are dimetrodons.) He should stay in the disambig as he is part of the assortment, and blatantly intended to be an acneitn extinct animal... and the idea that he's not expressly G1-Dinobot-colored is absurd. --M Sipher (talk) 12:21, 14 June 2014 (EDT)
- I know that the pterosaur and the dimetrodon are not dinosaurs, but they are frequently lumped in with them, and have had toys of them sold as Dinobots. However, I know no precedent for a futuristic robo-tiger being sold as a Dinobot, thus my position that Catilla is the odd Mini-Con out in the assortment.
