Tailpipe is a Transformer from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

When Nova Prime took the first Ark to conqu- er, explore the galaxy, he chose Tailpipe to be one of his crew.

Tailpipe piloted the Ark when its crew stumbled upon an anomaly within the Benzuli Expanse. He panicked when the anomaly began to pull the ship in, but Nova Prime assured him that it was merely doing his bidding. Dark Dawn The entire crew was subsequently lost to the Dead Universe and presumed dead back on Cybertron, where they were honored with the Ark-1 Memorial Grounds. Before the war, while examining the memorial, Ratchet placed his hand over Tailpipe's name. Post Hoc

A rescue mission for Tailpipe was apparently attempted some time later as Guzzle claimed that some of his good friends were killed "Trying to saveanother 'bots Tailpipe". Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 3

Millions of years later, Cyclonus revealed that he knew Tailpipe was supposed to be part of the crew but that Tailgate was not. Cybertronian Homesick Blues
