• Chief Burns makes direct reference to Noah's Ark in response to the large number of wild animals in the city.
• Chase and Chief compare trying to catch a groundhog with Whack-a-Mole.
• As they hunt for badgers, Kade announces "We don't need no stinkin' badgers", a line from "Weird Al" Yankovic's film UHF, which was itself a reference to a line from the Mel Brooks film Blazing Saddles.
