Some Transformers can live out their entire lives without ever meeting someone to be their Conjunx Endura. In that respect, at least, Scattergun was luckier than most.

At some point in the past, Scattergun was Chromedome's Conjunx Endura. When he died, Chromedome found the grief too painful to bear and, against Brainstorm's advice, used his mnemosurgery skills on himself to remove any memory of Scattergun. The Gloaming

According to Hoist, who considered Scattergun a friend, Scattergun was warborn and constructed cold. Like a lot of Autobots of his era, Scattergun was a Made to Order soldier (an M.T.O) specifically designed to fight for the Fourth Vorsk Offensive military campaign. Twenty_Plus_One

• Odds are that Scattergun was an Autobot given his close relationship with Chromedome and his friendship with Hoist, but you never know.
