Two Stinger prototypes were being displayed in KSI headquarters when Cade, Shane, and Bumblebee snuck in. A nearby video promoting Stinger claimed that it was "Inspired by Bumblebee, but better in every way!". In the video, the lead engineers claimed that Bumblebee's design was antique and ugly and how Stinger was an improvement. Bumblebee took great offense to the video, and destroyed the prototype that was in robot mode. Before he could destroy the one in vehicle mode, KSI's staff arrived forcing him to hide. The Stinger in vehicle mode was one of two active drones spared during the Autobot attack on KSI.
Later, that Stinger was deployed with the only other active drone, Galvatron, to chase down the Autobots. During the battle, Stinger fired one missile at the Autobots, which missed, but was mostly overshadowed by Galvatron's free will and relentless pursuit of Prime. He was later recalled once Prime was incapacitated and shipped to China, to avoid the feds discovering KSI's prototypes.
When Galvatron assumed command of the prototypes, the Stingers followed him into battle in Hong Kong. They seemed to act as his squad leaders during the fight. However, they were all destroyed by the Dinobots. Bumblebee later destroyed the last one and his head was then eaten by a Dinobot. A smug Bumblebee remarked "I hate cheap knock-offs". (So do we Bumblebee. So do we.)
It is not known how the engineers of Stinger reacted to Bumblebee killing it. Age of Extinction
