Nautica is an Autobot from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
She's got a wrench and... Chromia knows how to use it!

Nautica isn't really great at talking tough, but she is pretty good at throwing her hook around. She lets her buddy Chromia do the former. She's very hands-on in her repair work, which often leaves her covered in grime.

Fiction

IDW Generation 1 continuity

Nautica was born on a distant world colonized by the Metrotitan known as Caminus. The Titan carried within him an active hot spot upon leaving Cybertron, allowing new Cybertronians to be born from the colony. Nautica was one of several Cybertronians born from that hot spot who evolved in such a way that they were considered "female". A 'Bot and Her City

From Caminus, Nautica boarded the Vis Vitalis along with her crewmates, and collectively they served under Thunderclash for a short time. However the arrival of Alpha Trion brought to light the dire situation Metroplex was in. As the Vis Vitalis would be unable to reach the titan in time, Nautica went along with Windblade and Chromia in a smaller, faster craft. Burning Bright

While inside the nigh-corpse of Metroplex, Nautica and Chromia encountered a group of Autobots. After beaning Ultra Magnus with her hook, Nautica tried to act threatening towards the strangers, but failed; Chromia picked up the slack, demanding the Autobots' unconditional surrender. The Dead Are Not Enough

Ultimately Getaway defused the situation by wiping the grime from Nautica's Autobrand, showing they were all on the same side. Introductions were interrupted by an Ammonite attack, forcing a retreat. En route to her commanding officer, Nautica thought she recognized Ratchet but at first mistook him for his fellow medic Pharma. After she realized the mix-up she apologized, and Chromia scolded her for trying to make up for lost time. Burning Bright

Nautica joked about thumbs with Brainstorm when Metroplex finally defeated the Necrotitan, something which Perceptor did not quite appreciate. Finis Temporis

Nautica and Windblade later updated Ultra Magnus about Metroplex's condition as he heals thanks to the infusion of the 'magical mystery ore'. Nautica quickly realizes that Magnus wants answers from Metroplex regarding the Knights of Cybertron. While she was initially evasive, she eventually told Magnus that she once asked the titan the same question, only to receive the answer that none of them deserved to know the truth. Their discussion was interrupted when Magnus was summoned elsewhere due to a fight. The Becoming

Nautica was present with Windblade within Metroplex when a swarm of Ammonites large enough to blot out the sky attacked, though thankfully Metroplex needed no persuasion to join in the battle. Black Planet The Ammonites all spontaneously combusted and died due to the actions of Metalhawk. Nautica, Windblade and Chromia witnessed as the Lost Light smashed onto Monstructor, and the three leaped out of Metroplex to finish off the separated component members of the combiner....And the Damage Done

Later, an enthusiastic Nautica, accompanied by Chromia, later attended a 'crew auditions' for the Lost Light hosted by Swerve, but just as she was turned down for having a trisyllabic name, Nightbeat bursts in and reveals that the whole auditions was a joke played by Swerve.

Six months later, Nautica did end up on the Lost Light, and she discusses the merits of color-coded, faction-based lasers with Brainstorm. They pass a group of crewmembers trying to eavesdrop on Rung's quarters. World, Shut Your Mouth Part 1: Towards Peace She was later in a bar with Skids and Riptide, discussing the latest issue of the Lost Light Insider, which Nautica disapproves heavily of. Riptide decides to have fun with a drunk Trailcutter, and while Nautica initially joined in laughing at Trailcutter, eventually thinks better of the prank and walks away. After all, she has been in her quarters all day and not at Swerve's. World, Shut Your Mouth Part 2: Words Hang in the Air

Nautica was part of 'Team Rodimus' called in to figure out the identity of the Rodimus corpse found within a coffin the crew had found in space. Nautica asks Brainstorm about his 'early warning system', and later made her contribution by recognizing Spectralist markings on the coffin that causes Ratchet to speculate that Drift, being a practicing Spectralist, was the one who carved them. The mystery of the coffin was put on hold, however, as parts of the Lost Light began to disappear, and the entire crew was forced to evacuate into shuttles. World, Shut Your Mouth Part 3: Predestination: A Beginner's Guide Nautica found herself with nineteen others on the new Rodpod, where she asks Riptide about the origins of the Lost Light. When queried by Ammo, she later gives a short lesson about the ship's quantum generators, concluding with the theory that the ship was so advanced that it "proved itself impossible."

People began to disappear without any reason, however, and tensions began to rise amongst the crew. Hound aimed his gun at Nautica, prompting her to defend herself with her wrench, but the other Autobot was merely aiming at Ravage, who had stowed away on their ship. Later, Ammo, Riptide and Getaway tell Nautica about those that are Constructed Cold and the Ten-Step Program to make them 'world-ready'. Those present in the ship started to disappear, and Nightbeat finally makes the connection that those that were left behind, including Nautica, were not part of the original crew of the Lost Light. Whatever this observation means lies in mystery as the Rodpod stumbles upon the bisected remains of the Lost Light... Twenty Plus One
