The original Headmasters were an ancient Cybertronian faction that fought in the First Cybertronian Civil War ten million years ago under the command of Nexus. Their enemy, the Darklander Galvatron, saw the combination of "beastly" and "pure-born" Cybertronians as an abomination, implying all ancient Headmasters had animal-form heads. The Mind Bomb Galvatron vanquished the Headmasters during the war, paving the way for the uniting of the Cybertronian race

It was on day 43 that Galvatron, a Cybertronian hailing from Protohex, engaged Myskrion and his cohorts. Galvatron saw the combination of the humanoid-shaped and the animal-form Cybertronians as an abomination, prompting his entry into the war. Emerging victorious after being seriously injured by a polearm carried by Myskrion, Galvatron would rise to fame for his role in defeating the ancient Headmasters.
