IDW Generation 1 continuity

The ancient Headmasters (under the command of Nexus) were involved in the First Cybertronian Civil War. It was on day 43 of the Battle of Aegiax that Galvatron, a Cybertronian hailing from Protohex, engaged Myskrion and his cohorts. Galvatron saw the combination of the humanoid-shaped and the animal-form Cybertronians as an abomination, prompting his entry into the war. Emerging victorious after being seriously injured by a polearm carried by Myskrion, Galvatron would rise to fame for his role in defeating the ancient Headmasters. [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion] approached Galvatron just after the Battle of Aegiax to propose that the ancient barbarian unite the Thirteen warring tribes of Cybertron, with the defeat of the Headmasters paving the way for this unity to occur. Notes

- While this isn't the first time we have seen Headmaster technology in IDW, it is the first time that the Headmaster partners have been animal-shaped rather than biped/ humanoid in appearance.It's also the first time a Headmaster partner has also been Cybertronian, rather than a binary-bonded, cybernetically-enhanced organic partner.

- Alpha Trion notes that Galvatron seems to enjoy "ripping apart Cybertronians". This serves to foreshadow (retroactively) Galvatron's tearing in half of Megatron after coming through his built-in spcae bridge.Finest Hour
