During the 1960s twenty-three nuclear fusion devices were detonated on Bikini Atoll- leaving high amounts of Strontium-90 and Cesium-137 on the island.
Roughly 50 years later, the EDC set up a base on Bikini Atoll to test Anti-Cybertronian weaponry.
Some time after he arrived on Earth, Alpha Trion was apprehended by the EDC and taken to the Marshall Islands. Full Fathom Five
Jetfire tracked down the location of the EDC's "Mind Bomb" to the Marshall Islands. The Mind Bomb The Autobots used Sky Lynx to reach the Islands and sent Jazz ahead with a coat Stealth Paint to scout the EDC base, where he discovered Alpha Trion's ship. Concurrently, Galvatron and Soundwave confronted the EDC on the "Mind Bomb" and on the construction of a new home for the Decepticons.
Optimus Prime later ordered a full frontal assault on the EDC base to provide a distraction for Jazz, but the assault was later halted by the arrival of the Decepticon spaceship. Full Fathom FIve
