Nelson Shin (신능균 申奈舜; born 1939 in Pyongsan, Hwanghae, Korea) is a Korean animator and animation director. He was the producer of the original Transformers cartoon and the director of The Transformers: The Movie, and is the founder and owner of the South Korean animation studio AKOM. It might not be a coincidence that animation duties of the cartoon were shifted more and more from Toei to AKOM as the series progressed.

More recently, he recorded a DVD commentary for the 2006 release of The Transformers: The Movie by Sony, alongside Susan Blu and Flint Dille.
