Age of Extinction Tessa is Cade's young seventeen year old daughter who is looking forward to leaving for college, however upon arriving home from a day out with her friends, she finds a letter which said she had been denied financial aid, this left her questioning how she'd be able to attend college with little to no money for supplies. Deciding to take her mind of the financial issue, she decided to start a video chat with her secret boyfriend Shane Dyson, who was an Irish race car driver. The chat only lasted a mere few seconds until her father had arrived with a dilapidated truck, that was purchased with Lucas' cash. She had gone outside to figure out what was going on, when Cade explained to her that he intended to strip the truck down for parts so he could send her to college.
The night that followed allowed Cade to examine the rusted heap, which brought a shocking revelation, the truck was actually a stasis locked Optimus Prime. In the early hours of the morning, Tessa came into the barn to check on her father who had been working all night on the truck, but not before Lucas explained to her that the Yeager family was in danger of losing the house due to lack of payment. Ignoring the issue at hand, he explained to the pair that the truck was made of an unnatural steel and when hooked up to a car battery, it actually played the S.O.S that was sent to the Autobots after they had been betrayed by the United States Government. The truck was actually Optimus Prime, a Transformer and the leader of the Autobots. This was particularly unnerving to Tessa as she wanted to be no where near the stasis locked Transformer, Cade explained to her that she could hide in the house while Lucas and He worked on it. She complied and ran inside as the pair began to work on it, utterly disgusted with her father not wanting to notify the proper authorities. As she stayed in her room, Lucas and Cade began to tinker with a missile which then launched into the house, leaving Tessa terrified. Once the missile stopped she walked quickly to the barn, to explain what had happened. Having removed the missile had awakened the slumbering Autobot, he wasn't too happy to say the least. Optimus looked down upon the trio and was ready to open fire, Lucas was the first to suggest calling the cops until he found himself struck in the head with a ten foot long rifle. Tessa stayed behind her father, as he made the attempt to calm the frightened Autobot down. Finally finding his center, Optimus began to explain what happened to him at the hands of the humans, which lead to Cade offering to repair the Autobot.
After making some repairs to Optimus, the military force known as Cemetery Wind found their way to the Yeager farm. Tessa who had heard the vehicles driving up, called to her father, who had emerged from the barn. Her father began to talk to Savoy, the leader of Cemetery Wind, telling him that he had no business being on his farm. The conversation then changed to the subject of Optimus Prime, Savoy demanded that that Cade tell him the location of Optimus. Cade simply denied the fact that he knew where Optimus was, which in turn infuriated the leader of the military faction. Harold Attinger, had then ordered Savoy to attack the girl, for he knew that she was the easiest way to get Cade to talk. Tessa was nearly done for, until an enraged Optimus made himself known and began firing upon Cemetery Wind. This window, allowed Tessa, Lucas, and Cade to escape, only to be met by Tessa's secret boyfriend, Shane Dyson, an Irish rally car racer. The trio piled into Shane's car which allowed Cade to see the rather unsettling reality, Tessa had a boyfriend. The trio took off in a high speed chase, with Cemetery Wind following close behind them. Optimus was taking part in a chase of his own, he was being pursued by the bounty hunter known as Lockdown. The humans continued their escape through the busy town of Paris, Texas, only to find themselves at a nearby factory, where Lockdown and Cemetery Wind were still nipping at their heels. After making a daring jump from the factory window, Shane found his car destroyed which forced the foursome to abandon the car and find refuge with Optimus Prime, however Lucas found himself stuck in the car and Lockdown directly overhead tossing a grenade to his position. Lucas finally escaped, but too little too late, he met his horrifying demise.
Once clear of the situation, Optimus drove the trio, to a desolate gas station where Optimus gave his condolences to the loss of their friend. The eulogy was short lived as Optimus wanted to make sure they weren't followed, which left Shane, Cade and Tessa in an extremely awkward situation, where Cade and Shane discussed Tessa and his relationship. Having spent the rest of the day and night there, Optimus finally returned and collected the trio. Once getting back on the road, Cade needed to make a pit stop to see if he could access his accounts, which as could be expected to be a fruitless endeavor. Cade using a modified Cemetery Wind drone attempted to withdraw cash from his account which was locked by government. It didn't take long for the local law enforcement to take notice and quickly rallied to the location and attempted to make an arrest.
After leaving the ATM's location, Optimus began to rally the remaining Autobots so they could figure out why they were being hunted. Once the Optimus met with Hound, Crosshairs, Drift and Bumblebee, Cade, Tessa, and Shane became an instant target for the paranoid bots, however the situation was quickly defused by Optimus when he explained that the Autobots owe them for saving Optimus's life. After spending a night with the Autobots, Tessa accompanied Shane and Cade to KSI headquarters to see if they could find out why the bots were being hunted by the humans.
Along with invading KSI, Cade orders Shane and Tessa to steal items they may need, but only the essentials which almost gets them caught. The combined forces of the Autobots and Humans take refuge in a near by church to avoid detection while they investigate KSI.
Once inside of the heavily guarded building, Cade begins to investigate the manufacturing of Transformium, but while doing so, he sees the Autobot Ratchet's head being melted down to be used to manufacture more transformium. Cade used his modified drone to capture the sight which infuriated Optimus, enough to make him want to order his Autobots to invade the Lab of KSI to destroy their equipment. Once inside Hound was more than ready to splatter Joshua Joyce all over the floor, but Optimus wished to hear what Joyce had to say. After Joyce explained that the Autobots were no longer needed by the humans, the saddened Optimus Prime ordered a retreat to which Joyce responded by sending out the two KSI built transformers, Galvatron and Stinger.
As the Autobots began to make their way away from KSI, Galvatron and Stinger soon intercepted them, Optimus began to engage Galvatron, finding that there was something oddly familiar about him, he was Megatron in a new and improved body! For some time they fought relentlessly until Lockdown arrived to capture his prize, Optimus Prime. However in all of the confusion, Tessa hid inside a parked car, and was taken aboard Lockdown's ship along with Optimus. Once on board, Optimus and Tessa were separated, Optimus was taken to a holding cell and the car along with Tessa inside of it, was taken to the chop shop section of the ship to be broken down and chopped up for parts, but as the drones working away at the car, cut it open, they found Tessa hiding within. She was soon attacked by one of the drones which forced her to flee form the location only to be pursued by a few of the beast drones Lockdown had on board, she found her way to a holding cell where the beasts couldn't get through. After she was in there, some drones sent in a scanner to find the her, but could not as she was hiding on a hanging cell which held a rather disgusting alien life form that used its tongue to grab onto her leg. Disgusted to say the least she began to hack and slice away at its tongue until it released its grip. Moments later, Shane, Cade and the Autobots stormed the ship and began looking for Optimus and Tessa, The humans went for Tessa as the Autobots went to free their leader.
Once Cade and Shane found Tessa they immediately turned their attention to finding the nearest exit, the Autobots having freed Prime, had launched the tow cables to prevent the ship from leaving earth. The cables had allowed the trio to climb across to an adjacent building which Tessa did not like the idea of whatsoever. Although she wasn't too sound with the idea, Tessa began to crawl across the long tow cable, desperate to get to safety. As they reached the halfway marker, the beast dogs that were housed inside Lockdowns demented ship, began to pursue the humans along the tow cables. As soon as Cade got them in their sights he attempted to keep his daughter calm, as he shot down the beasts, a few of them however stayed behind to sabotage the humans escape by tearing off the hold the cables had on the ship. The wires Tessa, her father and boyfriend were on, had released which caused the humans to go into a free fall, only to be saved by Bumblebee just in the nick of time. Shane praised Bumblebee for saving them until Crosshairs arrived with an enemy fighter jet.
Once they all boarded the jet, a high velocity chase ensued, which led them through much of the city. Crosshairs who grew frustrated with the enemies nipping at their heels decided to don his parachute and began to open fire on the jets that were following them. He managed to take the majority of them out, and landed in the streets below, as Bumblebee continued to pilot the jet, until he lost control and crashed it through the City streets. The humans miraculously survived the crash only to have Cade discussing automotive insurance with an angry civilian until he asked Tessa to hand him is "Alien gun" causing the civilian to run off.
Once the Autobots and human alliance are safely out of the ship, the recently freed Brains and Optimus begin to explain that Galvatron is Megatron reincarnated, and that he plans to use the human made Transformers to do his bidding and detonate the Seen in the most heavily populated area in the world, Hong Kong. Cade learning of this decides to contact Joshua Joyce to warn him of the impending disaster if he activates Galvatron again. Joyce tells his staff not to activate him and to lock him up so he can't cause any harm. Once this is done, Cade gives Tessa the option of turning themselves into the authorities, but Tessa declines due to the fact that she'd rather remain under the protection of the Autobots. The humans and Autobots then board the stolen ship and proceed to make their way to Hong Kong to intercept the Decepticons and to prevent the activation of the Seed.
Once in Hong Kong, the commandeered ship falls under fire from Galvatron's controlled Decepticons causing Bumblebee and Hound to fall out of the ship and into the heavily populated Hong Kong street and the Autobots still on board the ship lose control of it and wind up crashing into a nearby mountain side. There, Optimus decides to free the Dinobots and offers them to serve at his side or to die by his hand. Optimus over powers the Dinobots and Grimlock allows Optimus to ride him into battle. Back in Hong Kong Bumblebee and Hound are gravely out numbered by Decepticons, and the humans try to escort Joshua who has the seed in his possession to a safe location, until they are finally found by Savoy, who intends to kill the Yeager family. Cade helps get Joshua to an elevator to ensure that Joshua makes his escape but finds that the elevator cannot hold them all so he exits to engage Savoy in a grueling melee fight on top of the building. Tessa stays with Shane and Joshua who finally make their way to the streets below. Meanwhile Cade and Savoy find their way into an apartment where Cade manages to push Savoy out a nearby window.
Cade once free from Savoy, finally makes his way to the rest of the Autobots and humans where he dons his "alien gun" and begins to fight along side Hound and Bumblebee while Tessa, Shane and Joshua take cover from the incoming fire. After a long grueling battle, Hound finds himself running low on ammo...and ideas. That is until Optimus rejoins the fight with the Dinobots at their aid. Once the Autobots regain the upperhand, Optimus decides that its time he engaged Lockdown, once and for all. Cade makes Shane promise to keep Tessa safe as he follows after Prime, against his wishes. Bumblebee begins to make his way out of the City until Tessa has something to say. She doesn't intend to leave Cade to fight alone so she orders Bumblebee to bring her to her fathers aid. Optimus begins his fight against Lockdown in which he loses the upper hand. Moments later, Tessa, Shane and Bumblebee join the fight to help Optimus win. Once Optimus is able to deliver the finishing blow to Lockdown, Optimus detonates Lockdowns left over grenade and jets off as he finally finishes off all of the remaining KSI Decepticons. Once out of the fire zone, Optimus reveals that he's going to find his creators and that the Autobots are to protect the Humans, Tessa included.
