This wouldn't even be an issue if it weren't for the fascination with "canon."

—Denton J. Tipton saying everything IDW does wrong is the fans' fault for paying attention.[1]

Denton J. Tipton (born February 22, 1975 or 1976) is an editor for IDW Publishing. A former journalist and comics retailer, he was brought in during March 2008 to replace Andrew Steven Harris, who had been reassigned to editing some of IDW's other titles[2][3]. His first released editing task was The Reign of Starscream, and one supposes that tackling the fixes for the Beast Wars Sourcebook TPB release made him wonder exactly what he had gotten himself into by signing on.

Notably, he had the unenviable task of making sure Simon Furman's truncated "-tions" and Maximum Dinobots storylines connected with Shane McCarthy's All Hail Megatron maxi-series.[4] He took a short break from editing duties to pen the B-story in All Hail Megatron #15 as part of that task, and his final editing job on IDW's Transformers title was The Transformers: Drift.

He is now assigned as editor to other titles within IDW; Andy Schmidt took over as full editor for Transformers following Denton's move.

Notes

  • Despite Harris's attempt to make "DJ Tipton" catch on, he really just prefers plain old "Denton". [3]
