1999 Summer Toei Anime Fair
The 1999 Summer Toei Anime Fair (年99夏東映アニメフェア, Nen 99 Natsu Toei Anime Fair) was a triple-feature theatrical movie released only in Japan. It was released on 31 July 1999. The anthology was themed around short films based off of toy properties held by Takara. Despite being branded prominently in the anthology's title, Toei only animated two of the three segments. The Beast Wars segment was animated in Canada by Mainframe Entertainment and merely distributed in Japan by Toei.

Beast Wars Metals: Convoy's Great Transformation!
"Beast Wars Metals: Convoy's Great Transformation!" (ビーストウォーズメタルス コンボイ大変身!, Beast Wars Metals: Convoy Dai Henshin!) was the Japanese dub of the Beast Wars episode "Cutting Edge". It was preceded by several clips, prominently from "Optimal Situation", to establish Optimus Primal's new body. Because it was released theatrically, the episode's placement in the Beast Wars Metals television series was taken by a newly crafted clip show, "Remix: I Lost the Banana!". Due to the relatively late theatrical release, the episode was not included on Pioneer's Japanese DVD box set of Beast Wars Metals.
