This article is about the humans from Generation 1. For the Autobot journalist from Timelines, see Bishop (Autobot).
Bishop is a human from the Dreamwave portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Pretty bad, even for a human.

Bishop is not a popular man on the global stage. Some would call him a terrorist, but he regards himself as a freedom fighter. While such a lifestyle naturally breeds paranoia, Bishop is not above sticking a bag over his head and going along with strange people if the promised reward is great enough.

Fiction

Dreamwave Generation One continuity

Bishop met with the mysterious Lazarus after hearing promising things about the man, and the pair went on a drive though the snowy Canadian wilderness in a jeep. Lazarus assured Bishop that the reward was worth the journey they were undertaking. As they walked the rest of the way, Lazarus informed Bishop that the reason he had been losing so many battles was because his soldiers were not guns. This invoked confusion in Bishop, and he remained in the dark about what Lazarus was talking about until the hood was removed and he got an eyeful of Megatron.

As Lazarus explained, a newly-invented control mechanism placed the Transformers completely under the control of whomever owned them. Though Megatron obeyed Lazarus's first command to raise his arm, when Lazarus commanded him to kneel, Megatron did not move. Lazarus wrote this off as a minor glitch, and he and Bishop continued on the tour. Prime Directive #1 Some time later, Lazarus began to auction the Transformers he'd captured and presumably Bishop was among those gathered to bid. When Megatron unexpectedly game to life, the gathered bidders fled in terror. It's unclear if Bishop made it out of the base or returned home. Prime Directive #2
