The exact nature of the Omniversal Matrix is unknown. According to the version of the Primus/Unicron backstory told by The Keeper, at the end of the era of the Gods. Primus could not take his place with the other of his pantheon in the Omniversal Matrix until he had completed his final task of defeating Unicron, last of the dark gods.
