Archadis (BW)

Archadis is a Predacon from the Beast Era of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Heh. Oh, so you're so very precious, sweeties. But now it's time to die.

Archadis (アルカディス Arukadisu) is better than you. No, he doesn't think he's better than you, he knows he's better than you. And he'll make sure that you know it, too. A haughty, preening, narcissistic snob, his elitist and condescending attitude hasn't exactly made him many friends among the Predacons. And Archadis wouldn't have it any other way, as he's just so much better than all of those slovenly yahoos.

As one might imagine, there isn't a Maximal or a Predacon who wouldn't like to wring his immaculate, perfectly groomed neck, but Archadis is more than just talk. Beneath his stylish plumage rests a wealth of deadly projectile attacks that keep the unworthy rabble at a safe distance. However, if a foe is skilled enough to evade his bombardments, Archadis is more likely to flee than risk getting so much as one feather ruffled.

At some point, Archadis was transported back in time to the planet Energoa, during the original Beast Wars between the Maximals and the Predacons. Archadis Chapter Also brought to Energoa was Cohrada, who Archadis personally fought in a large Maximal-Predacon battle. Cohrada Chapter The battle was joined by several Autobots and Decepticons from another universe. Archadis was a Predacon hitman hired by Magmatron to kill the Maximals scaling the highest peak on Greengard for an Angolmois capsule. True to form, Archadis was a snob, marveling at how wonderful it was to fly, an ability that the Maximals lacked. With his ability of flight, Archadis possessed the advantage in battle; the Maximals were stuck in the middle of their climb and didn't use their weapons out of fear of avalanches. After pummeling the other Maximals, Archadis deduced that, as Stampy was the one holding the rope that the other Maximals were attached to, all he would have to do was attack the helpless bunny. Using his "Ryūsei Kochō Ken" (龍星古鳥剣, "Dino Star Ancient Bird Sword"), Archadis prepared to kill the Maximal... after delivering some very creepy entendres about it "hurting a little at first" (no, really). However, Stampy, inspired by his memories of his mother, was able to jump onto and off the moon and somersault into Archadis, sending him blasting off and leaving his mask behind. Archadis transforms into an organic Archaeopteryx. His wings extend via spring-loaded triggers to drop feather-bombs, as well as reveal flip-out (non-firing) blasters. In robot mode, his right forearm has a pistol with a geared "quick-draw" action, activated by rotating his attached tail-shield.

This mold was also used to make Airraptor.

A redeco of his previous toy, Telemocha Archadis has his colors slightly altered in area and tint. This toy mistakenly contains a Dinobot Spark crystal instead of the Predacon variant. He came with a DVD of the Beast Wars episode "Around and Around the Jungle".

Notes

• Archadis is one of three Beast Wars Neo toys whose designs were determined via a contest held by Japanese Television Magazine. The winning designs were revealed in the April 1999 issue. The other winning designs became Mach Kick and Bazooka. The original design that became Archadis was female.
