Astro class
- The astro class is a social stratum from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
On Cybertron under the rule of the Functionist Council, Transformers are assigned a class according to their alternate mode. Sometimes certain classes are recalled from the Grand Cybertronian Taxonomy when the Council's theoconomists decide that they no longer serve a purpose, but members of the astro class such as the Lunabots have traditionally been exempt from such purges.

Template:Notecmn Following the forced sale of Luna 2 to the Black Box Consortia, the Council decreed that the Lunabots would be the latest Transformers to be recalled and their obsolescence chips were detonated. Somehow one of the Lunabots escaped this fate, but was discovered trying to escape at a spaceport and summarily executed by a pair of Functionaries in front of the horrified Rewind and Minimus Ambus.
