The name or term "Frenzy" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Frenzy (disambiguation).
Frenzy is a Decepticon Mini-Con from the Aligned continuity family.

Frenzy's tendency to lash out at anyone who reminds him of his size would make him a textbook case of Short Bot syndrome if it weren't for the fact that he'll lash out at nearly anybody for almost no reason at all.

He's a follower, not a leader, and his ambition is limited to making trouble and hurting people. He can usually be found as part of Soundwave's throng of underlings, but he's also been known to tag along with Barricade—that guy's always tracking down somebody to beat up.

He's red, and blue! And gray, also.

Time to dance, Autobots!

Fiction

Aligned novels

Soundwave sent Frenzy and Rumble to search for the Matrix of Leadership in Crystal City. Afterwards they attended Megatron and Orion Pax's hearing with the High Council. The two communicated in coded beeps but could speak normally when they choose to. Exodus

Prime cartoon continuity

Voice actor: Greg Sepelak (English)

Frenzy was one of the two test subjects in Shockwave's latest experiment. Frenzy and his brother Rumble's sparks would be extracted from their bodies and placed in Laser cores, which would permanently allow their sparks to be switched between different bodies. When two Autobots invaded the lab they were in, Thundercracker released Rumble and Frenzy to engage the Autobots. After Shockwave eventually disarmed the Autobots, Rumble and Frenzy were ordered to execute them, but the two Autobots utilized the Decepticons' original data disc bodies to stop Rumble and Frenzy (who were unwilling to risk harm to their old bodies). After beating the two Deployers with their own bodies, the Autobots tossed the bodies out of the lab's windows, into the lab's waste canals. Rumble and Frenzy immediately followed, trying to retrieve their bodies.

Back in Kaon, Soundwave would demand that Shockwave return the two to their original bodies, to which Shockwave complied. Unreliable Narratives

Timeless

Frenzy accompanied Barricade when he confronted Fisitron on false charges of killing the crew of Outpost Thetarus with Cosmic Rust. Frenzy could only laugh as Barricade ignored Fisitron pointing out that Oilslick was the more likely culprit. Timeless

Transformers: War for Cybertron

Voice actor: Keith Silverstein (English)

When Optimus, Bumblebee, and Sideswipe came to rescue Zeta Prime from imprisonment in Kaon, they ran into Soundwave, who released Frenzy in defense. Frenzy put up a fight and didn't take kindly to comments about his size. Despite this, the Autobots managed to defeat Frenzy, and Soundwave recalled him. Although Soundwave was defeated, he and his minions were able to escape after attacking Zeta Prime. Transformers: War for Cybertron

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

While Soundwave secretly rebuilt Megatron in his workshop with the help of Laserbeak and Rumble, Frenzy somehow found himself running for his life against a conveyor belt to a smelting pool. He later accompanied Soundwave and the rest of the Decepticons in the assault on the facility created to house the body of the defeated Trypticon, taking time out to torture fallen Autobots and amuse the troops. Toys

Generations

It's not time to dance, it's time to kick it!
  • Decepticon Frenzy & Ratbat (Legends Class, 2012)
    • Series / number: 01 / 002
    • Accessories: Disc case
Part of the first wave of Generations Legends Class toys, Frenzy transforms into a "data disc". He is designed to interact with the Voyager Class Soundwave mold, being capable of storing in and launching out of Soundwave's chest compartment, and features a partial, spring-loaded transformation to robot mode that is triggered when a button on his underside is pressed. He features hands that are compatible with 3mm posts, and comes with a clear-purple plastic case which can be used to store him in disc mode.
Frenzy uses the same "circuit board" pattern as the other three humanoid data discs, but like the other three, has been mirrored in a way to give each one a unique orientation to the pattern.
Due to his construction, Frenzy has little to no posability, and the fact there is nothing to lock his feet into the proper position renders standing alone very difficult for him.
He was only available in a two-pack with Ratbat. He was redecoed into his wave-mate, Rumble, and retooled to make his Autobot counterparts Eject and Rewind.

  • Decepticon Data Disc Set (4-27-2013)
    • ID number: TG16
    • Accessories: Disc case
True to classic TakaraTomy form, this version of Frenzy is basically the toy we got as Rumble; the blue-and-black humanoid. There are a few paint operation changes from the Hasbro version, mainly adding black to his fists. The faction symbol on his chest is a brighter lavender, and the blue "base layer" under his circuit pattern is a more subdued powder-blue, and also lacks the ring-shaped gap between the circuit portion and the raised center nub with the faction symbol.
He was only available as part of a four-disc set with Ravage, Rumble, and Ratbat.

Prime

  • Frenzy (Deluxe, 12-26-2012)
    • ID number: AM-31
    • Accessories: "Dago F" Arms Micron
Part of the tenth wave of Prime toys in Japan, Frenzy is a redeco of the TakaraTomy version of Prime Rumble, transforming into a blue compact car of made-up model with red windows, and using the mold's alternate head. A good amount of his detail-based deco is provided by customer-applied stickers. He also has a "dramatic head reveal," wherein his head springs out from within his torso when said torso is opened during transformation. He comes with his Arms Micron partner, Dago F, a robotic octopus that converts into a pile-driver weapon.
Despite looking similar to the Hasbro "Robots in Disguise" Rumble toy at first glance, his car-body is a darker blue, plus he uses light blue plastic for his biceps, thighs, and feet, unlike Hasbro-Rumble's black.

Timelines

  • Barricade w/ Frenzy (Deluxe, 2014)
    • FSS2 number: 1
Available only with his larger partner Barricade (as part of an homage to the pairing of Barricade and Frenzy in the live-action movie), Frenzy is a redeco of the Arms Micron Sou, transforming into a circular saw weapon. He is covered in multiple 5mm posts and holes so he can be assembled into bigger and more ridiculous weapons. The toy comes assembled, but wrongly, with his thighs facing backwards; this can be fixed by removing the thigh piece, flipping it around, and swapping the shins.
The Barricade/Frenzy pack was only avaiable as part of the Transformers Figure Subscription Service's 2014 lineup.
This mold was also used to make Gan.
