This article is about the Decepticon Micromaster. For his Japanese Autobot counterpart, see Vanquish (ROC).
Vanquish is a Decepticon Micromaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Milking the giant cow... OF VICTORY!

Vanquish is the silent partner in his combiner relationship with Fireshot. He prefers to fly under the radar, both figuratively and literally, and achieves his goals by going unnoticed. He stays on Fireshot's good side, in case he should ever achieve his goal of replacing Direct-Hit as team leader of the Battle Squad.[1]

Also? Cool name.

Wings Universe

Wings Universe is based on the Generation 1 cartoon, but deviates from it in cosmetic ways and continuity points.

Vanquish and Falcon were servants of the Decepticon Warlord Deathsaurus when the Great War began. They held the Combaticons captive behind a field of Oan energy until Deathsaurus was ready for an audience. The Coming Storm: Part 4

IDW Generation 1 continuity

Vanquish was born from a hot spot inside one of the Metrotitans who left Cybertron to colonize other worlds. Windblade caught a glimpse of him splitting off from Fireshot when she was merged with Metroplex's mind. Windblade #4

Vanquish and a squad of Decepticons arrived to end Drift and Ratchet's fight with a small group of other Decepticons. Taken into custody, the two Autobots and Grit were led handcuffed to a large stone castle serving as the Decepticons' base where Decepticon leader Gigatron awaited them. Empire of Stone #1 Vanquish was present in Gigatron's throne room while the Decepticon leader held council with his two Autobot prisoners. Later, after Drift and Ratchet had escaped and had found the vault of stone warriors, Vanquish, Hellbat and two other goons appeared in the vault's doorway intending to kill them. Empire of Stone #2

I want to tell you about the Transformers!

Toys

Generation 1

  • Battle Squad (Micromaster Combiner Squad, 1990)
Vanquish transforms into the rear half of a SR-71 Blackbird stealth jet, which he forms with his combiner partner Fireshot. He can be connected to any other Micromaster Combiner, although with most he'll look pretty silly.
Vanquish was only available in a six-pack with his squad mates Fireshot, Direct-Hit, Half-Track, Meltdown and Power Punch.

Notes

  • It seems likely that the Vanquish seen in Windblade #4 and the one from Empire of Stone are not the same individual, given that no mention is made of Empire of Stone's Vanquish being from a colony planet, and he turns into a full jet on his own. Perhaps the colony Vanquish is actually just a suspiciously similar-looking individual?
