All I want is for you to make love to me

The beast of Borneo is an unregistered dragon-like creature native to the island of Borneo. The species is likely very rare and seems to possess some intelligence.

Fiction

The Transformers cartoon

Lord Chumley worked for years to capture one of the creatures. By 1985, he used it in hunting other creatures. The beast was the first challenge Chumley threw at Optimus Prime when he came to rescue some of his soldiers. The beast snuck up on Prime, and though Prime countered its attack, he was separated from his ion blaster. When he tried to retrieve it, the beast whipped it out of his reach onto a bridge, where they continued fighting until Optimus Prime threw the beast into the pit below. Prime Target

Notes

  • Flint Dille, who co-wrote "Prime Target", had a large hand in the development of Sunbow's Inhumanoids series—a series which featured an Inhumanoid named Ssslither, a reptilian giant who had been sealed in an ancient temple deep within Borneo. It's unlikely that a direct connection between the beast of Borneo and Ssslither was ever intended, but it does raise the question of why Dille seems to associate the island with giant reptiles.
  • For some inexplicable reason, the 1998 Behaviour Distribution Generation 2 VHS release of "The Rebirth" featured artwork of Optimus Prime fighting the beast of Borneo on the back of the box. The artwork may have originally been created to promote the Generation 2 cartoon back when it was new, as an accompanying piece of artwork on the back of the VHS featuring the Dinobots was previously used in the Fleetway Generation 2 comic as part of a "Next Issue" blurb. Why any of this was on the back of "The Rebirth", of course, is anyone's guess.
