Venin is a Decepticon Insecticon from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Venin's preferred method of attack is to pierce the armor of his enemies with his stinger and move out of range while his poison attacks their systems from the inside and Acid Storm's rain corrodes them from the outside.

Fiction

Transformers Legends comic

Venin and Buzz Saw were the sons of Waspinator, with whom they celebrated Christmas. Christmas When Tankor tried to convert him into a Generation 1 fan, Waspinator-turned-Thrust refused on behalf of his kids, telling Tankor they had no idea who the original Optimus Prime was. I'm Tankor, dana!

Part of the seventh wave of 2012-onwards Generations Legends Class toys, Thrilling 30 Venin is a redeco of Waspinator. His coloring seems to be an homage to the G1 Pretender Bugly or the G1 cartoon Insecticons. He comes with Acid Storm. Venin can transform into a purple insect, a robot with 3mm-compatible hands, and a gun with a 5mm handle. He has an autotransformation feature that folds up his wings when his gun barrel is extended.
Compared to Waspinator, many of Venin's plastic parts are considerably softer, giving him a much less solid feel.
This sculpt is also used to make Movie Advanced Series Buzz Saw.

Notes

  • Venin was originally designed with the colors of Deluxe Insecticon Venom, back when Acid Storm was going to be Thundercracker <ref>Joe Kyde's comment on allspark.com</ref> but the colors were changed sometime between then and production, presumably to match his new partner.
