Omega Prime is an Autobot Combiner from the 2001 Robots in Disguise continuity family.
He can get any girl he wants... Even your girlfriend.

Due to the greed of Ultra Magnus, Optimus Prime was forced into a combination with his brother. Ultra Magnus merely wanted the power of the Matrix of Leadership for himself, thinking that a combination would let him access that power. The result of their combination is Omega Prime, a seemingly unique individual who not only combines the best of his component parts abilities but adds a considerable amount of power to the total. His importance in the fight against evil cannot be over-estimated, stretching beyond even his own universe.

He's neither making a list, nor checking it twice!

Convalescing on an island after a brutal fight with Ultra Magnus, Optimus was attacked by Megatron and the Decepticons. Ultra Magnus showed after having followed Sky-Byte via a hidden tracking device. Feigning compassion and understanding his brother's heavy burden in carrying the Matrix, Ultra Magnus pretended to offer Prime his helping hand, only to seize it and force the two of them to combine. What he didn't expect, though, was that Optimus had as much control over their new body as Magnus did. His plan to steal the power of the Matrix backfired and he had to cooperate with Prime to defeat the Decepticons. Ultra Magnus: Forced Fusion!

Despite this setback from Magnus's point of view, the pair would regularly combine, issuing Megatron and his men with a string of defeats until Omega Prime was able to definitively defeat the Predacon leader in the Sahara Desert. Peril from the Past However Scourge was able to activate Fortress Maximus and Megatron returned in a new form as Galvatron. Even Omega Prime's great power was unable to overcome such odds. Luckily, the human boy Koji Onishi was able to stop Fortress Maximus's rampage. Maximus Emerges

Can one ever truly have too many guns?

A rematch saw Omega Prime pitting his arsenal against Maximus in a desert without leaving a scratch on the gigantic Transformer, The Human Element but he proved more than capable for seeing off Galvatron and Sky-Byte. Mistaken Identity When Galvatron brought the Megastar to a battle, Omega Prime attacked it and was promptly "blown away like a tumbleweed on the prairie", as X-Brawn put it. Surprise Attack!

After the defeat of the Megastar, Omega Prime attempted to confront Galvatron, but the evil Decepticon unleashed hordes of cyber-bats which took control of the world's children. Prime was forced to call a retreat. Galvatron's Revenge Optimus managed to persuade Magnus to combine with him one last time. Omega Prime challenged Galvatron to a duel at the Earth's core, and the power of Earth's children provided him with the Matrix Blade, with which he was able to defeat Galvatron for good. Cybertron comic

"In you go, Side Burn!"
"You suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-"

As the battle against Unicron continued, Omega Prime fought alongside Autobot and Maximal alike against the Chaos-Bringer's generals. When the Cauldron suddenly began dissipating, Omega Prime did his best to guide as many Children of Primus as possible through the vortex home. Revelations Part 2

On his own journey, however, he was swept up in an inter-dimensional matter interlink by the former Mini-Con named Over-Run, deposited on a Cybertron threatened by a gigantic black hole which marked Unicron's passing. Omega Prime arrived in time to use his boot of justice to stop Nemesis Prime from using the Dead Matrix to revive Unicron. Revelations Part 1

Omega Prime later joined Sentinel Maximus, Skyfall, and Downshift in fighting the Mini-Con Civil War, on the asteroid colonies surrounding Cybertron. Revelations Part 4 Gatling lasers, rocket storms, Omega arsenal blasts...all proved fruitless when Unicron himself joined the fray. Revelations Part 5 Omega Prime and Sentinel Maximus did their best to hold off the Chaos-Bringer, until Primus himself emerged from the core of Cybertron, transforming his planetary form into a robot mode. Unicron fled, and Optimus and Magnus joined Sentinel Maximus in pursuing him through space. Revelations Part 6

Toys

Car Robots

TIIIMBERRRR!!!
  • Super Fire Convoy and God Magnus (2000)
Simply a combination of Super Fire Convoy and God Magnus, this toy was available in a two pack of the two smaller robots. However, the two-pack was short-lived and the easiest way to get it was to buy the two separate toys individually.
Released on November 23, 2000 as a Toys'R'Us Japan exclusive, the God Fire Convoy Special Clear Version (ゴッドファイヤーコンボイ スペシャルクリアバージョン) set featured Super Fire Convoy and God Magnus cast in metallic speckled translucent plastics with color changes. The main draw card of the set is the Super God Sword, which was a redeco of the Master Sword from the Japanese version of Fortress Maximus with a new (floppy) long handle.

Universe

  • Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus (Sam's Club exclusives, 2003)
Redecos of the first toys, the red on Prime was replaced with yellow, and much of Magnus's lighter blue was replaced with a very dark blue, often confused as black.

Cybertron

  • Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus (Costco Exclusive, 2006)
This set used Prime's Robots in Disguise deco with one paint change and Magnus's Universe deco packaged in a single gigantic box. In the United States, it was only available in Costco for slightly less than the two individual figures. In Australia, it was carried by Myer, costing less than two leader class Cybertron figures, but slightly more than the cost of Robots in Disguise Optimus Prime and Robots in Disguise Ultra Magnus at 2001 prices.
