The name or term "Scott" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Scott (disambiguation).

Scott Ciencin (born 1962) is an American author and comic writer. The bulk of his novel work has been on media tie-ins, including for Dinotopia, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Jurassic Park, and Charmed. He was a writer on IDW Publishing's Silent Hill comic and has written on Captain America for Marvel Comics. He sometimes co-writes with his wife, Denise, with whom he lives in Fort Myers, Florida.

His first contact with the Transformers brand was writing Transformers: Hardwired, the first book of The Transformers Trilogy for ibooks. When general reaction to the book was poor, in part due to the viscerally-described gore, Ciencin was replaced partway through writing Transformers: Annihilation by David Cian.

All the Silent Hill comics he wrote for IDW have been reviewed by Linkara, who criticized, among other things, that the comics have little to nothing to do with the game franchise aside from the name.
