Eva-01 was deployed by Misato Katsuragi in response to the battle between Optimus Prime's Autobots and "Angel"-scream. Mode "Eva" chapter 2 When Prime met the Eva, he recognized it as a living being rather than a robot, sensing it to be emitting a "primeval call". • Eva-01 is the flagship mecha of the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise. Its pilot, main character Shinji Ikari, goes unmentioned in the Transformers X Evangelion story.
