I don't see any evidence in the Marvel Comics that Cerebros was not a pre-existing Autobot. Though Fort Max's TFU entry says "Fortress Maximus's head transforms into a robot form called Cerebros, which is controlled entirely by his binary-bonded partner," Cerebros shows up repeatedly (not just his head) in the Headmasters mini-series, and his proper introduction in Trial by Fire! makes no mention of his recent construction, referring to him solely as "another Autobot." For all the comics demonstrate, Spike can ALSO control Fortress Maximus entirely, and as Galan combines with Fort Max and Cerebros in that first appearance, he talks in identical phrasing about being able to control either. ("Through binary bonding I can now control Cerebros, and through Cerebros, I control Fortress Maximus!") I would say that Cerebros was a pre-existing Autobot who has very little say in this new arrangment. Why can be left to speculation, which we don't have enough information here on which to deliberate further. --ItsWalky 21:00, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

I see nothing that contradicts the TFU entry. In lieu of anything more compelling than the TFU entry's arguent, I think he's clearly just a transtector. Frank Springer having randomly used the model means nothing. Chip 23:24, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
