Zombie?

[edit]

So, why do people think Metrotitan is a zombie? JW 22:21, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Because new guys can never be new. They can only be someone from 1984 through 1986 reincarnated. (See: the early months of Beast Wars, when everyone was tryign to figure out which 84~86 guys the show cast originally were.) --M Sipher 22:22, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Also, repaints weren't nearly as popular back when Americans first began hearing about the Japanese TF stories. Nowadays, sure, nearly every single mold is used at least three times over, but not so much 10 years ago. And if MegaZarak WAS Black Zarak, and Fortress Maximus and Grand Maximus were brothers, then SURELY the repainted Metroplex must be related to the original in some way, right....? --Xaaron 04:14, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

How do we know that's a coincidence and not an homage?

[edit]

While Metrotitan isn't a zombie, by complete coincidence[citation needed], one of IDW's multiple Metrotitans did become a zombie during the Dark Cybertron storyline!

i tried asking the question via a "citation needed" tag, but my edit was reverted without anybody answering the question.

Because John Barber said so on his Twitter. Would you stop trying to question every single decision we make on here? Jeez. Escargon (talk) 12:09, 17 May 2014 (EDT)

Suggestion: splitting out the IDW character

[edit]

Zone Metrotitan and IDW Metrotitan have basically nothing in common outside of the name, and with the Zone-colored Titan in the Annual, I think it would better benefit readers to split the IDW version onto his own page. --DannyBoy (talk) 21:43, 8 September 2018 (EDT)

I don't see how that at all benefits readers. --ItsWalky (talk) 22:43, 8 September 2018 (EDT)
Given they're two very different versions of the character, having it all on one page is extremely confusing. - TBR (talk) 22:59, 5 October 2018 (EDT)
Blaster, Shockwave, Grimlock. Escargon (talk) 23:30, 5 October 2018 (EDT)
...examples of other pages that probably really should be split for clarity, I'm assuming? - TBR (talk) 23:50, 5 October 2018 (EDT)
Hahahah.
No. Escargon (talk) 00:40, 6 October 2018 (EDT)
I really don't see what possible benefit there could be to splitting the page. It's fine the way it is. -Foffy (talk) 00:43, 6 October 2018 (EDT)
The benefit that it's really confusing that "This article is about the Decepticon cityformer" and "Metrotitan is a Decepticon cityformer" when IDW Metrotitan is most assuredly not a Decepticon, but such is life I guess. - TBR (talk) 01:30, 6 October 2018 (EDT)
Neither is IDW Cyclonus. Saix (talk) 01:47, 6 October 2018 (EDT)
Which to me is an argument for splitting that too, but I'm used to being the minority report. - TBR (talk) 02:05, 6 October 2018 (EDT)
It probably would have been better for you to argue that IDW Metrotitan and Zone Metrotitan weren't the same character "archetype", since IDW Metrotitan is basically only named that because Barber wanted to retcon the race name to "Titan". That's more sensible than arguing that factions make them separate characters. Saix (talk) 12:37, 6 October 2018 (EDT)
Wouldn't it be easier to change it to "Metrotitan is a cityformer"? --abates (talk) 05:48, 6 October 2018 (EDT)
