The Seeker's history is revealed, as Galvatron learns that not all treasure has tangible value.

Synopsis

In the last moments of his existence, the Seeker reflects on his beginnings. Millions of years ago, he was a Quintesson, but unique among his race in that he saw the potential for evolution and freedom of thought in the robot slaves they created. Although mocked by his peers, this Quintesson predicted the rebellion of their robots against them, and fled Cybertron before it could occur. He dedicated himself to travelling the universe, gathering information from every corner of creation, eventually casting off his physical body and becoming as one with the data he gathered. At the end of his long journey, he returned to his home galaxy to discover that, as he had predicted, the Quintessons' robots had evolved into a society of their own. Four robots in particular caught his attention, and rather than observe them from afar, he decided that he had to have them in his hands. But it all went wrong... and as the last vestiges of his consciousness fades away, he wonders where he went awry...

The six Transformers that were the Seekers' captives watch as an Autobot and a Decepticon ship close on their position, actually putting the rescue of their comrades above battling one another. Scrapheap wonders aloud if cooperation such as this could be a treasure greater than the power of either Unicron or the Matrix, but he realizes that this seems highly unlikely as Hot Rod and Galvatron take his musings as a cue to argue their philosophies. To end the matter for now, Hot Rod instructs Scrapheap to give Galvatron the "treasure" he discovered on Junk, only for Galvatron to be enraged when he discovers that the whole fight was over a valueless piece of scrap metal. Galvatron crushes the metal into fragments, at which point the lingering energies the Seeker infused him and the other Decepticons with finally fade, restoring their bodies and minds to normal. Not wishing to be caught up in the destruction of the Seeker's ship, the Decepticons prepare to pull out, but as he turns to leave, Galvatron pauses, and quietly notes that even now, Hot Rod will not shoot him in the back. Hot Rod confirms this, and Galvatron dismisses him as being as stupid as ever, deciding to let him live this time.
