A Tribe Called Quest

A Tribe Called Quest were an American hip-hop group from Queens, New York City, in 1985, originally composed of East Coast rappers and Queens natives, Q-Tip. Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and Jarobi White. As part of the collective known as "The Native Tongues", the group has been hailed as a pioneer of alternative hip-hop since the release of their debut album, People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm in 1990. The group was disestablished in 2017 following the death of one of its members, Phife Dawg in 2016, and the release of their final album, We Got It from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service in that same year after his passing.

Their song "Check the Rhime" is featured in the 2023 film, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and is listed on its official Spotify playlist.
