In robot mode Hosehead wielded an accelerator rifle that caused its targets' internal mechanisms to speed up, leading to mechanical breakdowns and draining fuel reserves. Hosehead's More than Meets the Eye profile

Hosehead used his accelerator rifle to "hyper-stimulate" an Aerospace Extermination Squadron drone's weapon, causing it to malfunction. The drone then simply blasted Hosehead with a different weapon in response. The Age of Wrath #3

The Transformers Hosehead came with a black accelerator rifle. This toy was released in Japan with few or no changes as the Headmaster Junior Cab where the accelerator rifle was repurposed as Cab's anti-fire gun.
