Advance Surveillance Unit

Following the Wreckers' disastrous mission to move against Galvatron in the middle of an inhabited human city, Emirate Xaaron sent an Advance Surveillance Unit to Earth to set up a reconnaissance base so that they would be prepared for their next attempt. Yeah... good luck with that.

The Advance Surveillance Unit appeared exclusively in the UK portion of the Marvel Comics continuity.

Upon arriving on Earth in an Autobot shuttlecraft, the Advance Surveillance Unit activated its scan cloak and set out to investigate the local area. Although they had orders not to get involved in local affairs, Sandstorm found that a nearby town was suffering terrible fires and the Autobots were compelled to help. While evacuating the townsfolk, they discovered that the fire had been started by an alien lifeform, a cute-but-dangerous Firebug. Broadside was all too willing to simply destroy the pest, but Inferno convinced him instead to send it off to Mercury, where it wouldn't pose a danger to anyone else. Firebug!

Later, the three Autobots caused a panic when they tried to celebrate Christmas with a bunch of humans, leaving the town of Border Flats in ruins as a result. They made themselves scarce, only for the Autobot Powermasters to track them down and attack, thinking they were dealing with a trio of Decepticon trouble-makers. Suitably ashamed of the damage they had caused, the Advance Surveillance Unit apologized for the misunderstanding. As the Autobots settled down, Optimus Prime joined them and reminded them about their responsibility to the planet. Cold Comfort and Joy!

The Advance Surveillance Unit was absorbed back into the Wreckers proper when they arrived on Earth, aboard a Decepticon heavy transport and allied with the Mayhem Attack Squad, to take on Galvatron again. Unfortunately, many of their members were killed in the attempt, including Sandstorm. Time Wars Broadside and Inferno went on to unite with the remaining Mayhems and Wreckers to form the "Survivors". Survivors!
