Beautiful and majestic, the Air Hammers are a space-born species that fly through the void unaided, making them a sight to behold for any space-traveller. They are, however, also extremely dangerous. Their skulls are the hardest substance in the universe with a flock of them being able to tear through a starship.

But they're not a problem if you have shields.

Forty cycles after the Ark left Earth, the ship was struck by an EMP, paralyzing the ship and its crew. The only two unaffected by the pulse, Arcee and Grimlock used an Autobot shuttle to guide the Air Hammers away from the Ark. As they patted themselves on the back, they horrifyingly remembered that Air Hammers heralded comet storms. Perfect Storm

After the Great War ended, Cybertron was invaded and conquered by the Quintessons, the populace locked within a virtual reality.
