Micro Transformers: American Rescue Team

In lieu of the unreleased Block Town, in 1996 Takara re-released the Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers Micro Transformer Rescue Patrol Team with jigsaw-style floor plans in the very short-lived stand-alone Micro Transformers: American Rescue Team (マイクロトランスフォーマー アメリカンレスキュー隊 Maikuro Toransufōmā Amerikan Resukyū Tai) toyline.
Toys
[edit]
The "American Rescue Team" members were each sold separately in boxes which were marked on the front as to which figure was included. Each figure came with a puzzle piece and a sweet. All of the figures are essentially identical to both the Hasbro Rescue Patrol and all three Takara Rescue Patrol Team releases. The only noticeable difference on this release is a "CHINA" stamp tampographed onto the leg of each member.
- 01 Patrol Car
- 02 Ambulance
- 03 Fire Engine
- 04 High Speed Boat
Notes
[edit]
- The back of the boxes has an attempt at translating the title into English, that being: "Micro Transformer American Rescue".
- Oddly, rather than using English loanword "team" (チーム chīmu), something that is used much more frequently in Japan for Transformers-related products and media, this line uses the native tai (隊) instead. Even the original Takara Rescue Patrol Team uses the katakana spelling.
- The buildings on the puzzle pieces are themed to the toy they come with, however the complete city the puzzle builds is too small for the figures to interact with.
- This release causes some confusion in the West, where it has sometimes been mistaken as a Block Town release.
- Due to the lack of any logos relating to the Transformers toylines that came before it, it's uncertain whether this is supposed to be a Generation 1 toyline or something else entirely. Both the figures and their packaging also lack faction symbols.
