Angela Bassett

Angela Bassett (born August 16, 1958) is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Tina Turner in the biopic What's Love Got to Do With It, a role which nabbed her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in 1993. Alongside Turner, Bassett has played numerous other biographical film roles such as Betty Shabazz, Katherine Jackson, Rosa Parks, Coretta Scott King, and Voletta Wallace.
In the realm of fictional characters, Bassett has played Queen Ramonda in the Black Panther films (and other Marvel Cinematic Universe installments such as Avengers: Endgame), Sergeant Athena Grant in 9-1-1, and several roles in American Horror Story. She also voiced Ana Spanikopita on Bojack Horseman, and Michelle Obama on The Simpsons.
