Animus

Animus is an Autobot from the 2005 IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
"Groundbreaker? I hardly know 'er!"

Animus is a member of the Ethics Committee. Ironically, he lied to get on it.

Animus served on the Ethics Committee meetings at the Kimia Facility, alongside Trailbreaker and Xaaron. He sat in consideration of Ironfist's new invention, cerebro-sensitive bullets that used onboard computers to ensure a killshot to the head with every pull of the trigger. Bullets Animus was still at Kimia when it was raided by Cyclonus and an army of Sweeps. His wrecked bestial alternate mode was seen among the casualties. Lamentations

He somehow survived, however, and later joined the Lost Light mission to find the Knights of Cybertron. Hangers On While skimming a list of crew members, Ultra Magnus noted with disapproval that a certain somebody whose name began with an 'A' was a liar. How to Say Goodbye and Mean It

The Lost Light was duplicated by a quantum accident and two Animuses lived separate lives. The Road Not Taken Both of them would be the second victim of a Sparkeater's rampage on the first day of the voyage. The 'original' Animus was killed while waiting to get into his and Whirl's quarters. The Chaos of Warm Things The 'duplicate' Animus was used as bait by Rodimus but otherwise survived!   • Animus's death at the hands of the Sparkeater reveals that he possesses a green spark. Although seemingly irrelevant at the time, later revelations indicate that Animus is likely a Point One Percenter, explaining why Animus is targeted in the first place; the Sparkeater is attracted to Animus's strong spark energy.
