Optimus Prime's battle with Trypticon doesn't end well, but he receives some unexpected reinforcements.
Synopsis

Ironhide approaches the trapped Trypticon, only to be attacked by the monstrous creatures previously seen underground, which Ratchet deduces to originate from within Trypticon himself. The Autobots are overwhelmed by the minions, allowing Trypticon to break free from the rubble and resume his rampage until he is faced down by Optimus Prime, who believes he can stop him using the power of the Matrix. However, his attempts to open the Matrix end in failure, and he ends up being swatted aside and stomped on like a bug. Injured, Prime looks back on his failures as a leader and is close to accepting that he does not deserve the Matrix, but regains hope on witnessing the sudden return of the Dynobots, who fight off Trypticon's minions.
Optimus Prime is then approached by a repaired Megatron, who looks down on his inability to bring order to Cybertron and invites him to watch as he deals with Trypticon himself, only to be attacked by Grimlock. Prime collapses from his injuries, but not before warning the Dynobot to remember his identity and not be blinded by rage once again. Unfortunately, the battle between Grimlock and Megatron only serves to distract the two from the approaching jaws of Trypticon, who devours them both in a mighty bite...
