Anti-Aircraft Base

The Anti-Aircraft Base is a Micromaster vehicle from the Generation 1 continuity family.
In tank mode, only Blackout moves at super sonic speed.

The Anti-Aircraft Base is a massive all-terrain tank driven by the Decepticon Micromaster Combiners Spaceshot and Blackout. It is armed with a turret-mounted twin 50mm cannon, a triple missile launcher, and a bazooka. It is equipped with extensive radar equipment for enhanced target acquisition. This juggernaut can function in extreme temperature, underwater, or even in total vacuum! It has the ability to swim on water. When transforming, it separates into a small green scout vehicle and a large base with repair bays, a helipad, and several weapon stations. The scout craft races at a staggering speed of more than Mach 1, and is armed with a stun cannon. It can be operated by remote control or piloted directly. With the cunning Micromaster duo commanding it, the Anti-Aircraft Base often emerges victorious from the battlefield.

  • Anti-Aircraft Base (Micromaster Combiner Anti-Aircraft Base, 1990)
  • Accessories: Bazooka, scout vehicle, radar drum, missile launcher, ramp, communications dish, left & right anti-aircraft guns
Released in the seventh and final year of the original The Transformers toyline in the US (sixth and not-final in Europe), the Anti-Aircraft Base is a massive tank that loosely resembles the Gepard anti-aircraft tank. The tank form separates into its main unit and a scout vehicle that can drive off separately. In tank form, the ramp for the base is stored inside the tank, a rare feature among Micromaster bases.
In base mode it folds out into a set of multi-level platforms, including a helicopter pad. There are three connection points for Micromaster ramps, as well as 5 mm ports and pegs all over the base to accommodate the various weapons and accessories, making it incredibly versatile. The 5 mm pegs on the base are all hollow, creating the unforeseen benefit that the base is Mini-Con compatible. It also has several C joint posts and even can attach 2 Energon stars! Maybe it also has a hidden flux capacitor somewhere? The base's ramp has a 5 mm port and can also mount on the pegs around the base, providing a unique method of connecting the Anti-Aircraft Base to other Micromaster bases—by having a single ramp connect to three bases at once.
This set came with the Decepticon Micromaster Combiners Spaceshot and Blackout.
No version of this set was sold in Japan.
