Archibald Witwicky's glasses

Archibald Witwicky's glasses are a set of portable prosthetic lenses once owned and used by Captain Archibald Witwicky. They would have been an ordinary pair of spectacles if the Captain hadn't discovered Megatron frozen in the ice, who activated part of his navigation system to imprint the location of the life-giving AllSpark onto them.

Despite being the only known record of this important and crucial information that could weigh heavily on the fate of an entire alien race, they would eventually wind up on eBay by the Captain's great-great-grandson, Sam Witwicky.

Captain Archibald Witwicky took the glasses with him in the National Arctic Circle Expedition of 1897. He was wearing them when he fell into a crevasse and discovered the inert form of Megatron, who activated a part of his navigation system and burned the location of the AllSpark into the spactacles. The flash caused Captain Witwicky to drop the glasses, causing them to crack. As Captain Witwicky was rendered blind by the experience, it is presumed that the glasses were never repaired or used again.

That is, until the year 2007, when the Captain's great-great-grandson listed them on eBay with the hopes of raising funds to purchase a car. To this end, he took them, among other artifacts, to his school and engaged in a (rather poorly done) sales pitch during his genealogy report. The report was poorly received, but was awarded an 'A-' after Sam pleaded on behalf of Jesus. He proceeded to leave them in his backpack, which he then deposited on the kitchen table before leaving in his newly acquired car. The outing led him to an encounter with Optimus Prime and his Autobots, who were after the information inscribed in the glasses.

The glasses remained in their previous location until Sam returned late at night, with the Autobots in tow, to search for them, but Sam had trouble remembering their location. The fruitless search ended only when Judy Witwicky told her son the location of the glasses, but Seymour Simmons and his Sector Seven agents showed up to arrest him the moment he finally found the ancestral artifacts. Sam somehow managed to hold onto the glasses even while being violently apprehended.

Sam held onto the spectacles through the entire ride including when the Autobots intercepted the S7 convoy to break him out, but dropped them when he was saved from falling to his death from an overpass by Bumblebee. Thankfully, they did not break, and the unassuming item remained where it was dropped until Optimus Prime picked it up. He carried it with him to a rendezvous with the other Autobots, where he scanned the lenses to reveal the location of the AllSpark. Transformers

The glasses were returned to Sam at some point, who included it as a 'personal memento' in his 'long-distance relationship kit' for Mikaela. He never got around to sending it, however, as his room was soon overun by a group of AllSpark Mutations and Bumblebee was forced to blow the whole place up. The glasses were presumed destroyed.
